Emma and Helene discussed  an art fair event that Emma's organization recently hosted. Emma shares her experience and learnings from the event, including the challenges faced, such as the lack of financial gain and the need for better evaluation and feedback mechanisms.  Helene provided valuable insights and suggestions, emphasizing the importance of having a systematic approach, creating templates and checklists for future events, and conducting post-event evaluations with the team. They discuss strategies for improving the event's financial viability, such as negotiating venue fees or seeking funding opportunities. 





3rd Mentoring Session

The meeting discussed the strategic plan for an arts and culture organization. Key topics included financial stability through diversifying revenue streams, securing funding, and applying for accreditation. Inclusivity initiatives like engaging the community, ensuring accessibility, and presenting diverse perspectives were also covered. The creative program, art collection development, staff training, and effective communication strategies were discussed.





2nd Mentoring Session
15th May 2024
 
Key topics discussed include developing a three-year strategic plan, delegating decision-making authority to staff, prioritizing organizational values, and fostering effective leadership practices. Emma shares updates on recent board meetings, where decisions were made regarding the museum's diversity initiatives, collections development policy, and trustee training.





1st Session

The session focused on developing a strategic plan for a charity organization that presents art collections to the public and supports local artists. Helene guided Emma through defining the organization's vision, mission, and core values. They discussed the importance of differentiating between vision and mission.
